General

Are there many mosquitos on Bonaire?

Mosquitoes can be found in every tropical climate. On Bonaire, there are frequent trade winds that help keep mosquitoes away. But in or after the rainy season when there is little wind, the mosquitoes can be quite annoying.

That is why all the windows and doors of our rooms are equipped with mosquito nets, which means that we can keep most mosquitoes out. To be sure, each bed also has a mosquito net, so that you can at least enjoy a “mosquito-free” night’s rest.

Can I drink the tap water?

Yes! The tap water of Bonaire is one of the purest and safest sources of water in the world for drinking, so there is no reason to buy bottled water. We encourage all our guests to bring their own reusable water bottles.

Money and Currency

With which currency can I pay on Bonaire?

On Bonaire you pay with the US Dollar ($).

On the island you can pin with your debit card and there are ATMs (ATMs) on the entire island.

Note: switch on your debit card for Central America before departure!

Transport

Is there public transport on Bonaire?

No, public transport on Bonaire does not actually exist. Taxis are there, but these are often very busy with their customers at the airport or the passengers who come off the cruise ships.

We therefore advise you to rent a car or scooter, with which you can explore the island when it suits you.

Need help finding a suitable means of transport? We are happy to be of service.
